The Bad Stuff: It has the same out of character anti-feminist bullshit tacked on final ending as the book. I'm convinced it's not the ending the author or the director wanted but was dictated by market research. There is a scene where the movie should end. That scene is really obvious. Once you've seen that scene you probably want to leave and avoid the bullshit of the last four minutes of the film.
The first third of the film also drags. It's supposed to set up and foreshadow the scene where the movie should end and it simply doesn't. I suspect this is because there were supposed to be a couple more scenes with Phillip Seymour Hoffman in them that never got filmed becasue he died so they put in some really unconvincing filling.
The Good Stuff: Once you slog through the first 35 or so minutes of the film and Katniss is in the Capitol the film really soars. There is a scene in the subway tunnels of the city that is spectacular. The scene where the movie should have ended remains amazing. The interactions between Katniss and Snow are exactly what they should be. They actually made Peeta's storyline more convincing than in the book. Natalie Dormer is wonderful and Jennifer Lawrence is as well.
Bottom Line: Seen the first three films? Yeah, you'll like this, but don't be expect it to be as good as the others. But it's certainly worth the price of a ticket and two hours of your time.
