The Force Awakens Trailer

1. Black guy in stormtrooper outfit - guess they aren't clones anymore.

2. Oh, more storm troopers - and they are of different heights - yep, def not clones anymore.

3. I'm glad it's clear the empire is still around. It never made sense to me that just by killing Palpatine and Anakin that a Galactic Empire would collapse.

4. A "dark and a light." Good, the entire premise of Star Wars is that someone is going to eventually bring balance to the Force. I'm glad they haven't forgotten about that.

5. That girl has to be Luke or Leia's daughter. The way she's riding that thing strongly implies some Skywalker blood. Wouldn't a female jedi be an interesting thing?

6. Boy it looks like it would be easy to cut your hand off by accident with that new lightsaber.

7. Tie Fighters! X-Wings! Yes!

8. The Falcon. Sqee!

9. Wouldn't it be interesting if the point of this trilogy was the emergence of someone who is both Jedi and Sith at the same time?

10. I like that the ships look sort of beat up again. Nice change from the prequels.

Do Naked Moms Help Sons Relate To Women Later In Life?

A mother of four young boys has written a blog post about why she is naked around her sons as much as possible.

Some quotes:

"I want them to see what a real female body looks like. Because if I don't -- and their first images of a naked woman are the impossibly perfect physiques in those magazines or those movies -- what kind of expectations will they have? And what woman could ever live up to them?"

"while they're young, I want to plant the seed -- so that when they're older, and their wives say, "I wish my thighs were smaller," my sons can say, "They're perfect just the way they are."

"for these few formative years, my flab is their one and only perception of the female body. And I want them to know that it's beautiful, even in its imperfection."

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Part of me thinks it could be a great idea. Part of me thinks it could be an awful idea.

What do you think?

A Mom Being Naked Around Her Sons As Much As Possible:

Great for teaching them about women's bodies.
Great for creating an oedipus complex.
Not a big deal either way.
Assumes a lot of heteronormativity
Something I will explain in comments
