What Do You Make Of This?

Men buy more sex toys during the World Cup than during any other sporting event. Women, on the other hand, buy fewer sex toys during the World Cup than during any other event.

What's going on there?

Stoya Slaps Down Kristof

The other night Stoya ran into New York Times op-ed columnist Nicholas Kristof and told him that his pieces about sex workers are putting women in danger. (Link is NSFW.)

"It was an extremely polite debate about differences in opinion," Stoya said. "I tried to explain how criminalization leads to perceived inability to report unsafe working conditions, because of fear of arrest and of over-reaction. He politely changed the subject.

Vice Vice columnist Molly Crabapple who witnessed the exchange described it this way:

"(Stoya) told him why his narrative on sex work was harmful, wrong."

AVN, the source of the article, doesn't have any comment from Kristof, whom, I'm guessing, really doesn't want to talk about the situation.
