Pink Parts

When a high end female escort posts an ad online or sets up her website it's considered a bad idea and sort of low class if any of her pictures show her pussy.

Yet, when a high end male escort posts an ad online or sets up a website, he needs to show his cock if he wants to get any business at all.

Where do you think this double standard comes from?

I Spit On Your Dragon Tattoo

Jezebel has and article today about the remake of I Spit On Your Grave.

The main argument is that the plot, in which a woman is graphically raped and then takes revenge on her attackers is exploitative and can turn on dudes who are into rape fantasy shit.

Fine. It's a fair concern to have. But my question is: Why have that argument over a low budget horror film that not many people will go see anyway.

The most popular book in the world this summer is The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. And that book features three very graphic rapes and roughly 50 implied rapes.

If you want to make the argument that depicting rape in as graphic a way as possible in fiction is essentially rape porn, then wouldn't it be better to discuss an example that's very popular?

Plus, at least I Spit On Your Grave is upfront and tells you what you are in for.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, while a wonderful book, gives you no warning at all in any of the marketing material or on the book jacket that you are going to be in for scenes that would be unbelievably triggering to anyone who has been a victim of sexual violence.

And if The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo isn't a rape revenge fantasy story, then I don't know what is.

Your thoughts?
