My Poor Kitty

Squirt somehow managed to hurt one of her back legs last night and is limping.

The weird thing is she seems completely happy, is still jumping up on stuff, being a total purr machine and everything is normal other than she doesn't feel like using her back left leg.

I can't figure out how she did it, unless she jumped at a fly and twisted her ankle. It's a holiday weekend, so I can't get her checked out until Monday and every site I look at on the Internet says pretty much that sometimes cats pull a muscle and there isn't much you can do for them except wait for it to heal.

There's no swelling and the leg clearly isn't broken. I just feel bad for her and wonder what the fuck is going on.

If she's still limping Monday when the vet gets back I'll take her in - and if she starts acting like she's in pain or not like herself I'll try to find an emergency vet.

Right now it's just frustrating watching her walk around like a crab.

Edit: I notice she's more than willing to use the back leg if the activity involves playing with me or jumping onto things, like the television, that she likes to sit on. Or if she hears a noise and wants to run over to check it out.

It's only when she's doing stuff less exciting stuff like walking to the food bowl that she's trying not to use the leg.

Very, very odd.
