The Future Of Music

If you don't think that the Internet has completely changed the music business consider this.

In 2009 Metallica made $22.8 million from concert dates. They "only" brought in $1.6 million from album sales.

Now I can see an argument about those numbers being made both ways.

Either it vindicates their fight against Napster by showing that Internet downloads fuck the revenue stream, or it shows that they were fucked up, because performance is where the real money always has been and always should be.

You thoughts?
