Friday night I spent figuring out the ins and outs of Lego Star Wars - The Complete Saga. The game is a trip. First you play through scenes from the movies with the actual characters who were in those scenes. In general you are a good guy.
That's OK, but it's not the full enchilada. While you are playing the scenes, you earn points that you can use to purchase new characters. You can then go back to the scenes and play them with the new characters which is much, much more fun.
In other words, going to Naboo as Obi Wan and rescuing Padme from the palace is OK - but it's a bigger trip to go back there as a Sith Lord and slay everyone in the palace, destroy shit and be an evil maniac.
This has given me a new respect for General Grievous. In the movies I thought he was sort of a boring loser - but in the game he's beyond cool. He's a giant robot who holds four lightsabers at once.
Do you know what you can do to Jar Jar Binks with four lightsabers? It ain't pretty, but it sure is fun. I also liked buying Count Dooku. He's one of the Siths who can shoot electrical laser beams out of his hands.
You can use the laser beams to torture anyone - including the six year old version of Anakin Skywalker. The best is using the power to both electrocute and bash Anakin against a wall at the same time.
On Saturday Ed Ward
was back in town and I took him around to look at apartments because he'd really, really like to move here next month.
I think he found one he's going to take - at this point it's just a matter of filling out the paperwork.
Last night Rome Girl and I met him for drinks at the Vert Anglais. The two of them got sushi, whiel I went and got Chinese.
Then I came home and bashed Anakin Skywalker's head in repeatedly.
All in all, good times.
