Raised On Promises

Yesterday I downloaded a huge Tom Petty anothology and have been playing it sorta obsessivly(as I do with tunes I like) since.

"What do you think of it," I asked Rome Girl.

"I don't like it," she said. "It sounds like some north Florida redneck singing into a random microphone."

"That's the point," I responded. "It's cool because it's like that."

"Whatever, dude," she retorted.

Happy Birthday Young Scottish Boy

It's young Scottish Boy's birthday today.

The Iceman got him a t-shirt that says, in French, "It's not my fault. I'm Scottish."

Meanwhile, I got a haircut yesterday. I now look like yuppie scum.

Yesterday I downloaded Stephen King's The Stand. It's awesome and I love the idea of Robe Lowe as an angelic deaf mute and, of course, Gary Sinese rocks in anything he does.

Rome Girl had stomach issues yesterday. Whether it was stress or minor food poisoning we'll never know - but I'm sure we need to air out the bathroom.

There is a rumor going around town that Jardin Des Sens wants to buy Fitzpatrick's Irish Pub and open a new restaurant there.

I have no idea if there is any truth to this or not.

And, who needs it? You can already get toasties and soup at Fitzpatrick's.

Rome Girl is going to start working on the e-book about What Men Think - A Girl's Guide To Dating. They sent her a copy of a similar book they want her to work from.

The book, I shit you not, contains this sentence: "Men suck."

It's always nice to know what the other team is really thinking.
