Raiders Of The Lost Expectations
On Wednesday the new Indiana Jones movie will be playing in English at the local expat movie theater.

Duh, I'm a nerd so I'll go on Day One, but there are competing thoughts in my mind:

1. It's been more than a decade since Spielberg has made a decent, fun movie to watch.

2. George Lucas' track record of making sequels to wonderful films from my youth is summed up by saying "Jar Jar Binks."

3. On the other hand, Harrison Ford seems incapable of being in a bad movie. He picks scripts well.

All in all, it could go either way.

I missed that one. But even if it's awful, his track record is still pretty good.

You'll probably catch it on a long-haul flight -- it's the equivalent of a Jennifer Lopez/Jennifer Aniston movie.

He does have quite a good record, and has aged more gracefully than most (see: Michael Douglas).

Everybody can have a dog of a movie, and I agree, Douglas also just looks creepy these days.

Prediction: Harrison Ford will be awesome, the movie itself will be a digitally remastered piece of crap. Too much attention on the special affects, none to the scripting- except by HF, who will simply make his part awesome.

Conclusion: Probably at least better than Terminator 3, and I thought that was worth the price of admission.
