Way to have their SATC and mock it, too.

it'd be funny if they didn't shoot down my pitches and employ julia allison as their resident sexpert, the closest living incarnation we have to the offending woman in question.

also, while i agree with the spirit, i don't like the way it's visually represented. it seems to say "shut up, yappy bitches!" which strikes me as kind of offensive.

I thought they were going for a bondage motif - but I'm not really familiar with the magazine.

Maybe it's really saying "Shut up, you 80s throwback materialistic, vacuous old whores", which isn't quite as offensive. At least, it didn't seem that way until I wrote it down.

ah, women, we love using them to move product. it's just when they start getting mouthy that it's a problem...

Rome Girl has never seen SATC and has no desire to see the movie, yet I have seen every episode and am salivating for it to come out in France.

Which pretty much fucks with the premise of every review and article about the movie I've read - all of which sorta sexistly imply that this is all about girls dragging boys to the movie.

In my household it's going to be the boy dragging the girl to the film!

i have mixed feelings about SATC. in general, i think it's not as awful as everyone says. it started out ho-hum and then hit its stride and was really good for a couple seasons. not monumental change-your-life good, but about as good as the sopranos or any sort of pedestrian TV that thinks it's not pedestrian TV gets.

the last couple seasons it got a little heavy-handed with the puns, which was mad annoying, as well as the schlocky trying-to-cover-big-important-issues-in-a-half-hour-format, which was its second big mistake.

that said, a series about four women is monumental in that IT'S A SERIES ABOUT FOUR WOMEN. if you look at the statistics you'll see that it's a rarity for four women to have starring aka dominating roles in any big deal series. so for that alone it should be given a bit of a break.

i'm still not into the shoes and expensive clothes/handbag thing though. to me that part was totally unrelatable. also? where are the black folks? asian chicks? it's like a country club up in this piece.

If I knew more about the magazine (or is it a newspaper) it would probably change my opinion on the situation.

Assume I'm an ignorant asshole who has only seen this cover.

That said - anyone who picks someone named "julia allison" (which is an obvious drag queen name) over you deserves to be boiled in oil.

I got the distinction you were trying to make, just in case you thought nobody else did...
