Imagine they made a movie about the passage of the woman's suffrage amendment and did not feature Susan B. Anthony or any other suffragette in it, but instead focused exclusively on men who decided that it would be nice to let women vote.
You'd find that kind of sexist, wouldn't you?
Well, then you'll find Lincoln racist as all hell, because it completely ignores the work of Frederick Douglass and other black people who played integral roles in winning their eventual freedom and instead focuses on white dudes who sort of pat black people on the head and are like "aren't we nice to let you people be free."
The only black people in the film at all are dead soldiers and servants.
Beyond that the film is poorly shot, horribly scripted and total slog to go through. It manages to make James Spader seem like a boring actor. How do you do that?
You do that by making the movie like a talentless hack who figured he'd get a bunch of nominations just because his name is Steven Speilberg and he was taking on an important topic.
This makes Zero Dark Thirty look like a masterpiece. Hell, it makes The Hangover 2 look like an art film.
If your choice for a night's viewing is Lincoln or Maniac Cop 6, you'll find more artistry and integrity in the later than in the former.
